Dr. James (Jim) R. Bohland is an Emeritus Professor in the School of Public and International Affairs. Dr. Bohland previously served as Vice-President for Virginia Tech’s Operations in the Washington DC area; Director of the School of Public and International Affairs; and Department chair for Urban Affairs and Planning. His research interests have been community health, health and social policy. His current research is focused on socio-political aspect of resilience with a particular interest in the role of values in establishing differential resilience narratives. Also, he is conducting research on resilience and disparities and on health and climate change.
